Wrapping up.

Wrapping up.

Family

What a week! Sorry for the delayed post (not that I actually know anyone reads this), but been super busy with work and catching up with family. I spent the last bit of last week spending some quality time with my mum and nephews. Was great to just sit back and enjoy family time and try to unwind, but been full-on.

Work is going great like usual, had a few people go on leave so it has been a pretty big rush. Starting to like just working from a couch or random spot. Thought the ergonomics would be worse but haven’t been too fussed. I think the key is good sleep more than anything and lately have been having great sleep.

Ended up going up to the headlands with my mum for dinner and was great to see the sunset there. While we were there we overheard two girls who have been traveling the coast similar to me. But I don’t think they were working and traveling. But they were living out of a van and I just know that’s what I need!

I have been traveling in a tiny swift and just have limitations to where I can sleep so have to couch surf. The van would solve this if I rig it out enough. I can have an office there plus a great bed so that would be the dream. Maybe next trip, we will see.

But yeah said all my goodbyes and off I went to the Hunter Valley. It is about a 4 hour trip from Coffs and had a pit stop at Taree to catch up with my oldest best friend Justin. We have been friends since year 5 and great friends at that and was awesome to see him again. He has gone down a completely different path than me. I moved away and the area we grew up in wasn’t the best. But he has done wonderful things! He is now a proud father of 4 beautiful kids and working a fantastic job.

We didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time together but it was quality time and great catchup. I do miss the old-time walking streets at all hours and using the storm drains to get to places quicker. Maybe that’s a story for another day.

Anyway, I made it to the Hunter Valley all safe in a small town called Cessnock and just focused on catching up with family. Was quite crazy when I went to my Anutys since everyone was there, cousins and whatnot. And we all had a great catchup and drank. But all in all, it was a wonderful time. Looking forward to seeing more family as I have like 50 family members in the area and wanna see them all but let’s hope CV19 doesn’t F*&k it.
